World Book Day 2021
Friday 05 March 2021
To go with our World Book Day Story, 'The World Made a Rainbow' students in the Reception and Year 1 community classroom worked in teams to create rainbows using different materials. We think they are beautiful!
As part of World Book Day, we set children the challenge to read in an unusual place or with a member of their household, or both! We were delighted to see so many photographs shared. If you haven't sent us your photo yet, the activity will stay live on Seesaw for the rest of the term.
We also set pupils the challenge to share a story with someone close to them, who lives far away. Here is one of our Year 3 students sharing his favourite story with his cousin, all the way in Sweden, and one of our Year 1 students sharing a story all the way to Jakarta, Indonesia! If you'd still like to share a story with someone and tell us about it, the activity will stay live on Seesaw until the end of this term.
Austen Class discussed how chapter three of their KS2 text “Amari and the Night Brothers” by B.B. Alston fit the theme of “Stories that bring us together” and used it as inspiration to imagine where they would go on a flying ship. Here are some examples of the students’ work.
